A strong sense of style runs through Avakian’s Tosca Collection. The Tosca Collection, being unveiled at Cannes 2019, is a wearable work of art and is heavily influenced by the Belle Époque era.
Fluid lines, a delicate and graceful touch, as well as the use of pearls in this ravishing design evokes this era that ranged from 1871 to 1914. The Tosca Collection references strands of pearls and ‘garland’ styles, and uses gems to narrate the visual poetry. The line also takes inspiration in part, for its name, from Italian opera composer Giacomo Puccini’s incredible work – Tosca. A night-out at the opera, glamour, opulence – all serve as a palette of inspiration for Maison Avakian.
The transformable Tosca ruby earrings are offset with mother- of-pearl and white diamonds, and shiny pink gold on the opposite side. The Tosca sapphire earrings are set with blue sapphires and white diamonds with mother-of-pearl and shiny white gold on the reverse side, while the Tosca white diamond iteration is adorned with mother-of-pearl and white gold. The detachable gem-studded strands can be flipped for a different stylistic interpretation. The earrings come with matching rings.
Haig Avakian – Vice-President “A transformable piece can be worn in a variety of stylistic variations and that’s what we aim for while we design. Our Tosca earrings and rings are thus rendered in three variations, each comprising a changeable element. The collection of strands is reversible, with a gem stones adorning the strands on one side and a shiny metal finish on the other. We love for our jewellery to be worn in more than one way and strive to incorporate playful elements in our designs, whenever possible.”
