During the Dubai Watch Week 2019, the WATCHESPEDIA team had the amazing opportunity to interview Hind Seddiqi, Director General at Dubai Watch Week and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Seddiqi Holding.
Hind Abdul Hamied Seddiqi is Director General at Dubai Watch Week and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer at Seddiqi Holding. She is responsible for developing integrated marketing strategies for each business unit within the group, as well as internal and external executive communication tactics and plans. Hind also leads the customer relationship management (CRM) communications for all business units, including Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons and Seddiqi Properties.

Since joining the family business over a decade ago, Hind’s leadership skills saw her quickly rise through the family business and she played an instrumental role in restructuring the company’s marketing department. Hind is heavily involved in day-to-day department activities, brand and corporate strategies, as well as communication planning and execution.
Hind’s philosophy is to treat others as you would wish to be treated yourself. It is this ethic that has helped her to develop a dynamic and harmonious team who share her vision of bringing a modern approach to the family business, whilst ensuring traditional values remain at its core. A third-generation member of the Seddiqi family, Hind is also an active member of the Seddiqi Holding Executive Committee where she contributes to the professional development and interests of department heads, as well as the progress of the various business units.

The fusion of a timeless material and a non-traditional mechanism.
Building on their successful, shared “Vision” of being different and unique, Hublot and UAE partners Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons launched an all-new timepiece on November 22: The Classic Fusion Special Edition Bronze Anticlockwise. This is Hublot’s first-ever watch made fully from bronze, with a grey dial, and featuring an anticlockwise movement, another first for the watchmaking brand.

Turning back time
Designed and produced at the Hublot Manufacture in Switzerland, the Classic Fusion Special Edition Bronze Anticlockwise turns back time with its 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 O’clock Indian numbers indexes positioned backwards on the dial, and its hands turning counter-clockwise. The self-winding anticlockwise movement inspires the wearer to take a step back in time and admire the UAE’s impressive path that lead it to its current greatness.
The Art of Fusion in materials: Bronze
Hublot cut its Classic Fusion case out of bronze, a material created over 10,000 years ago through a fusion of copper and other metals such as aluminium, manganese, nickel or zinc. The alloy has the advantages of non-magnetism, resistance to corrosion and a distinctive appearance through its unmistakable hue. As bronze is covered with a natural patina that protects it and lends it an unparalleled finish, it gives this special edition a beautiful color that contrasts with the grey dial which positions its 3N gold-plated appliques in an unusual direction.
An homage to the avant-garde spirit of Hublot, the highly anticipated watch with its grey calf and gold stitched strap is limited to 100 pieces, a collector’s edition that defies the test of time and tradition.
F.P. Journe celebrated the opening of its first ever GCC boutique in Dubai today (30 October) at the prestigious Dubai Mall. Guests were welcomed through the doors by esteemed founder, François-Paul Journe. Accompanying him for the official ribbon cutting was Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi, Chief Commercial Officer of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the exclusive partner of the F.P.Journe Boutique in the region.

The 4th edition of Dubai Watch Week
Dubai Watch Week is a global platform dedicated to the preservation of watchmaking culture and heritage by creating one of the largest non-commercial events for the international watch community. Building on a long-standing partnership with Rolex, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons is pleased to announce the brand’s participation at Dubai Watch Week, set to take place from 20 to 24 November 2019.
This is the first time that Rolex will participate at a watchmaking event in the Middle East, with a dedicated exhibition exploring the universe of the Oyster Perpetual Submariner.
Through panels and interactive displays, the Submariner exhibition tells the story of how the celebrated divers’ watch developed over the years. Guests will also discover how, over time, the Submariner became an emblematic watch on land as well as at sea. “We are extremely honoured to have Rolex presented for the first time at Dubai Watch Week.
