As MB&F approached their 20th anniversary, the team looked back at these old sketches. They decided to dive into this treasure chest of unused ideas. The result? A whole new Special Projects collection that brings these sleeping concepts to life.

The company has always done things differently. They don't follow typical business rules or market research. Instead, they focus on creating the unexpected and going against what everyone else does.

The SP One Collection Details

The SP One, originally called "Three Circles," showcases three floating elements that seem to hover in space. These key elements include the barrel, balance wheel, and dial. All three appear to defy gravity inside the watch case.

What makes this watch special is its unique design. The three main parts seem to float mysteriously at the center of what looks like a small theater stage. Everything is visible through crystal-clear sapphire crystal domes on both sides of the watch.

The movement inside contains 191 individual components. Each part works together to create the amazing floating effect that catches everyone's attention.

Design and Technical Innovation

Case and Construction

The SP One comes in a smooth, pebble-like case that measures 38mm across. This makes it MB&F's slimmest and smallest watch to date. The case has a bezel free design that gives it a clean, modern look.

The watch feels great on the wrist thanks to its tactile feel and carefully shaped lugs. The first sketches for this design date back to 2018.

From the beginning, the goal was to create a watch that would whisper sophistication rather than shout for attention.

The heart of the SP One features three main components that create its signature look:

The Balance Wheel: This important part sits at 2 o'clock and moves like a tiny flying saucer. The balance wheel and dial work together to create a mesmerizing display that captures the eye.

The Barrel: The manual winding barrel appears to float in space. Despite its suspended design, it still delivers an impressive 72 hours of power reserve.

The Dial: The dial tilts at just the right angle to show off MB&F's skill with special gearing. This creates a subtle three-dimensional effect that adds depth to the watch face.
