Having celebrated the 200th anniversary of the chronograph on the occasion of its first participation in the event, Ateliers Louis Moinet will be returning once again to Abu Dhabi’s Salon des Grandes Complications Exhibition this year, this time with another exclusive selection of pieces specially prepared for its collectors and retailers – some of them on show for the very first time.
Ateliers Louis Moinet were at the event in 2016, adding the final flourish to an exceptional year – that of the bicentenary of the chronograph, invented by Mr Louis Moinet in 1816. This year, the firm is back once again – this time, to celebrate the centenary of Sheikh Zayed.
New projects, specially prepared for this participation, will be unveiled exclusively in Abu Dhabi. A number of timepieces will be on display, each of them combining the mechanical tradition of fine watchmaking, the creativity inherent in highly limited editions, and paying homage to the spirit of true craftsmanship. They honour the memory of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the United Arab Emirates who passed away in 2004. The 2018 edition of the Salon des Grandes Complications Exhibition will focus in particular on commemorating the man and his work; Ateliers Louis Moinet’s contribution in this respect takes the form of its own distinctive watchmaking art.
The pieces in question will be revealed from October 25 to 29 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the presence of Ateliers Louis Moinet CEO Jean-Marie Schaller, taking their place alongside the latest editions in the SpaceWalker, Memoris, and Tempograph Chrome collections – as well as a unique edition of Mobilis, numbered 01/01.
