The United States’ McLain Ward and HH Azur clinched the most coveted title of champion of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping 2017, by imposing themselves at the three rounds of the final. The Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf awarded the indisputable champion an elegant Longines watch, accompanied by the audience’s enthusiastic applause, to celebrate his amazing victory, which was timed by the Swiss watchmaker, the Title Partner, the Official Timekeeper and the Official Watch of the competition.

American rider McLain Ward aboard HH Azur claimed the last round of the Final of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping, after having led the first and second rounds on Thursday 30 March, Friday 31 March at Omaha’s CenturyLink Center. Swiss rider Romain Duguet and Twentytwo des Biches settled for second place. Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann riding Mary Lou landed at third place. The three star riders were granted an elegant Longines watch to reward their fantastic performance. The World Cup Champion received the watch from the hands of women tennis iconic star and Longines Ambassador of Elegance Stefanie Graf. All the riders had every reason to be proud of their contribution to a tremendous spectacle offered to the large audience of this week-end in Omaha. Besides, the Swiss watchmaker Longines had once again the great honor to be the Title Partner, Official Timekeeper and Watch of the event.

On the occasion of the 2017 World Cup Final edition, the spectators of the show could discover the Official Watch, which was a lady model of the Longines Equestrian Collection, inspired by the rectangular buckle on the show bridle of the only Swiss horse breed, the Franches-Montagnes. The piece in stainless steel showcases a silver-coloured checkerboard pattern dial decorated with diamond indexes. It belongs to a collection made up of watches with shapes and materials reminding symbolic elements of the world of horse lovers, a true celebration of riders and their mounts.

The partnership between Longines and the FEI reinforces the traditional and long-lasting commitment of the Swiss watchmaker in equestrian sports. As part of this partnership, Longines is lending its name to the FEI world ranking for riders participating in the show jumping trials: the Longines Rankings. The brand is the Official Partner of the three major indoor series (the Western European, Chinese and North American League) and the Final of the Longines FEI World CupTM Jumping, as well as the outdoor series and Final of the FEI Nations CupTM Jumping.

Longines’ passion for equestrian sports as well as its commitment to show jumping dates back to more than a century.
