Ascot (United Kingdom) / Saint-Imier (Switzerland), 20 June 2018 – The Swiss watch brand Longines was proud to welcome its Ambassador of Elegance Eddie Peng on the second day of the prestigious Royal Meeting at Ascot, during which the brand was given an elevated profile as part of the renewal of its partnership with the racecourse. The acclaimed Asian actor took part in the trophy presentation for the Queen’s Vase race, claimed by Kew Gardens ridden by Ryan Moore, while the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall presented elegant Longines timepieces to the winning connections of Poet’s Word, winner of the Prince of Wales’s Stakes. As the Official Watch of the event, Longines was proud to highlight models from the Record collection, a line combining classic elegance and excellence.

Characterized by a typical English sartorial elegance, Royal Ascot is considered worldwide to be one of the most prestigious sporting events in the calendar. After celebrating its ten-year partnership with Ascot in 2016, Longines proudly announced last week the renewal of its long-lasting association with the Berkshire racecourse. Under this agreement, the brand becomes an Official Partner of Ascot and continues its designation as Official Timekeeper and Watch. At Royal Ascot, the brand is also given an elevated profile, which includes stalls branding, on Wednesdays.
This day was thus chosen by Longines to invite its Ambassador of Elegance, acclaimed Asian actor Eddie Peng, to experience the Royal Meeting’s unique atmosphere. Following the remarkable victory of Kew Gardens in the Queens’ Vase, Eddie Peng, together with Longines Vice President and Head of International Marketing Juan-Carlos Capelli, presented Longines timepieces to the winning owners, lad, trainer Aidan O’Brien, jockey Ryan Moore. Later on that day, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall rewarded the winning connections of Poet’s Word with the brand’s timepieces as well.

In line with the refinement of the Royal Meeting, Longines is highlighting the Record collection as the Official Watch of the event. The automatic models in this line combine classic elegance and excellence, aspiring to become the spearheads of the brand. And there is no shortage of arguments for these exceptional timepieces, whose movement includes a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties. In addition, they are certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), a designation awarded to all of the pieces in the Record collection.
