Watch manufacture Harry Winston unveils its Premiere Moon Phase 36mm, a visually enchanting watch that showcases the harmony of mother-of-pearl and a mysterious moon phase complication. It is inspired from the serene beauty of the sky; white, glimmering, sparkling with a spectrum of colors the surface of the mother-of-pearl can give. Like a love song to the moon, it sings about an ode to the alluring round body hovering above the clouds, traveling through the horizon, before it finds its way back behind the design, as if signifying the end of the lunar cycle.

An in-house HW5201 quartz movement powers the lunar cycle, as well as the other features that goes with the time telling: hours, minutes and date display. Despite not utilizing a caliber, Harry Winston exclusively adapts this mechanism in order to give off a lighter engineering inside this visual masterpiece. The hours and minutes are shown by the beveled hands, looking elegant as it sweeps through the glistening dial. An open circle found at the 6 o'clock position is the date display, adorned with a bright yellow gold lining. This movement is found at the center of dial, a small crescent-shaped gap in a deep blue canvass that signifies the night sky. It is delightfully precious, tucked inside the symbolic sunray arcs of intense polish.

Different artistic techniques are used in this impressive face, where the mother-of-pearl material glows with intricate illustrations paired with contrasting colors. A deliciously three-dimensional aesthetic is achieved through carefully assembled contents, while still retaining the graceful appearance of its facade. It has to be said that two shades of mother-of-pearl were used in order to create such an illusion; one of which is a pure white material which alludes to daylight and the other, a deep pearly blue color that resembles the evening sky.

These colors are placed there for a reason; the contrasting hues are meant to guide the eye to the center of the watch, where the moon phase adorns the aperture. On the other hand, shimmering gold cabochons stand as minute markers, creating a far more visual treat to the user, while the emerald shaped logo, found at the 12 o'clock position, displays the iconic signature of the Harry Winston brand. 12 brilliant cut diamonds parade the perimeter, displayed as hour markers. Altogether, there are 2.58 carats of the world's best diamonds are showcased in the watch, including those on the arches, bezel and buckle. A 36mm 18k rose gold case embraces the entire dial, complemented by the innocent color of the white alligator leather strap.
