Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 pays tribute to “The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” with futuristic design and 80 hours of power reserve

(Date & place of issue) – Hamilton celebrates Elvis Presley™’s 80th birthday with the release of the ultra-modern, updated Ventura Elvis80. The iconic Ventura, with its striking, shield-shaped case was a wardrobe staple of “The King.” He wore it while in the army, during filming of the 1961 box office sensation, “Blue Hawaii,” and favored it for gift-giving to those in his inner circle. The 2015 interpretation of the Ventura, commonly known as “the Elvis watch” has mastered technical and material design entering a new style era. Confirming the focus on the future, the automatic model is powered by Hamilton’s own H-10 movement, integrating a power reserve of 80 hours.

Ahead of its time

Innovation is an integral part of the Hamilton Ventura, introduced as the world’s first electric watch in 1957. The Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 breaks technical and design ground with its steeply sloped crystal and curved dial, contemporary case architecture and intricate attachment fixture. The triangular shape simultaneously meets the objectives of attracting welcome attention and taking the materials used to new performance territories. The harmony of the fully integrated case is underlined by elegant, smooth brushed and polished surfaces. This is Ventura design evolution in action, with angular stepping being replaced by more flowing contouring. Just as Elvis Presley™’s fusion of familiar country music and rhythm and blues was way ahead of its times, the appearance of this timepiece has its eye firmly fixed on the future, yet doesn’t forget its strong roots thanks to the signature shape.

An accessible icon

The Hamilton Ventura Elvis80 family has refreshingly broad, unisex appeal featuring a range of material and color combinations, as well as a choice between an automatic and quartz movement. Wearer comfort is a top priority, with the eye-catching shape sitting snugly on his or her wrist. In the automatic versions, black meets black with a sleek PVD case and either a sporty rubber or a leather strap with stitching. Stainless steel adds its accent to the three quartz variations. The attachments join the case with perfect, asymmetric geometry, a further example of the construction’s visible complexity. A subtly stylish Hamilton orange second hand passes minute markings in the same color from 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock. Parallel, triangular lines surround the dial, while a trapezoid-shaped, raised base adds dimension to the iconic design. A unique, engraved crown completes the look of this special timepiece.
