It took 8 years of research for watchmaker F.P. Journe to develop this stunning watch, aptly called as Élégante. A unique creation that can be worn as a dress watch, this glamorous timepiece boasts of a unique feature that made it one of a kind. Its movement sleeps when not being worn, considerably extending the battery's life. The entirety of its mechanical movements are manufactured in the manufacture's Geneva workshops, and were crafted upon the brand's own standards of excellence, especially in the state of the art haute horology.

This new model showcases a revolutionary technology; the electro-mechanical movement of the Élégante is now upgraded into a 48mm watch. Its case shape, a diversion from the typical form, showcases a tonneau design with a flat top and exaggerated angles. Refreshingly urban, this new form guarantees not to lose any of the original's elegance while establishing a modern take. The dial is enlarged for those who are fond of wearing oversized timepieces.

The polished surface adds a classic appeal to this fresh take, while four screws fastened to the bezel showcase an industrial appearance, making this watch perfect for utility wear as well. Signature F.P. Journe hands bless the dial with the strong numeral fonts and minute tracks. There's a little aperture by 6 o'clock that reveals the seconds timer, quite an added feat for such a stylish ladies’ watch.

The true magic comes from its beating caliber 1210, which offers reliability and precision. This unique movement is only conceived once in a lifetime; it adapts to the rhythm of one's modern lifestyle as it goes into a standby mode when left motionless for 30 minutes. A mechanical motion detector, found at the 4:30 position, stops the entire workings, while a microprocessor continues to keep time as the rest sleeps. Energy is saved, giving the watch a longer autonomy, spanning from 8 to ten years of daily use, or 18 years in standby mode. Upon movement, the watch sets itself automatically to the correct time, taking the best and easiest path, which can be either clockwise, or counter clockwise.

One of its stunning highlights is far more than regularly seen; the entire dial is actually drizzled with Superluminova, making the dial readable in the dark, even without the luminescent hands and indices. The entire case is bound with a durable titanium material and can be strapped on by a dark blue rubber bracelet complete with a deployant strap in titanium and steel.
